Our planning efforts began in June, 2006. The strategic plan is built around the four goals outlined in the University of Idaho Strategic Plan. Goal Teams and Special Review Groups include:
Visioning Group of 22 faculty and staff leaders met as first step in the University of Idaho Boise Strategic Planning process for two full-day sessions in July 2006. The Visioning Group set the foundation for the future direction of strategic planning at the University of Idaho Boise by drafting the Locational Mission and conducting a stakeholder analysis.
Enrollment Strategy Group comprised of University of Idaho personnel from Moscow and southern Idaho representing multiple staff and support roles met in a day-long strategy session to generate new approaches and identify integrated efforts essential to increase student recruitment and retention in southern Idaho.
Goal 1 & 2 Team addresses strategies, action plans and metrics on Teaching & Learning and Scholarly and Creative Activity.
Goal 3 Team addresses strategies, action plans and metrics on Outreach & Engagement.
Goal 4 Team addresses strategies, action plans and metrics on Organization, Culture & Climate.
Student Groups: To further student participation in the strategic planning process, student dialogue and feedback sessions were held December 12th and 19th. Students provided recommendations for refinement of the work of the Goal Teams. A key outcome of the sesions has been the development of a student designed electronic survey to gather additional student perspective and enrich the plan.
Statewide and County Extension - Region II & III: A special strategy work session on January 4th was designed to strengthen, integrate and coordinate outreach and engagement efforts of University of Idaho Boise and University of Idaho Extension System colleagues in southern Idaho. Strategies were developed to increase recruitment of students, promote UI's image in local communities; and strengthen our diversity.
Directional Integration & Leadership Team reviews and refines work of the Goals Teams and Special Review Groups. In December the Directional Integration & Leadership Team reviewed the draft Strategic Focus, Locational Mission and Values statements, heard updates from each Goal Team, made recommendations to the teams for refinement, and provided guidance on the University of Idaho Boise Strategic Plan/Business Plan framework. The Directional Integration & Leadership Team urged that a delegation of University of Idaho Boise representatives present the work completed to faculty and staff colleagues in Moscow.
